System becomes unresponsive on Windows 11 without any warnings or logs.
Hello everyone, this has been a frustrating challenge. Over the past six months, my Windows 11 machine has faced a persistent problem: certain applications fail to respond correctly. Specifically, when I press Alt+Tab to switch programs, they don’t open properly and other tabs behave erratically—like a mousepad or keyboard that defaults to default settings. Even clicking on the toolbar or using the Task Manager doesn’t yield results; the interface remains blank except for column headers. The only workaround is using the shortcut once, but it stops working after that. When I try Alt+F4, it doesn’t close anything, and the OS freezes completely, leaving just my cursor and a total lack of progress. A reboot shows no critical errors in Event Viewer, except for a minor, unexpected shutdown. My setup is a gaming and music production rig, so I’m trying to narrow down the cause. I’ve reinstalled Windows using two partitions—one for gaming, one for music production—but only the music OS has been stable recently. The gaming OS still freezes, while the music version seems more affected. I haven’t seen any driver updates in months; my system feels like it’s running with a memory leak or software glitch. I ran Memtest86 and got no errors, but I’m planning a full diagnostic tonight. I was using turboboost off at the time and have since started overclocking, which hasn’t helped. My guess is this isn’t a driver issue, but something else entirely. I’m hoping someone can help me gather more data to pinpoint the problem.
Searching for tools to track crashes and hangs. Still struggling to find a clear solution.
