Occasionally after booting up, my PC runs slower with lower frame rates, longer load times, and a general feeling of sluggishness. It feels like performance is cut in half. Restarting resolves the issue. Could this be related to the small CPU overclock I have? My system includes an AMD Athlon X4 860k OC'd at 4.1GHz, GTX 750 Ti, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD, Asus A88XM-PLUS, Corsair 430w PSU with 80 Plus Bronze.

We require additional details. Including specifications would be helpful. Recent adjustments to settings are needed. The issue began at a specific time. New software has been installed recently.

If you're relying on an HDD, it might be the reason for the delay. Switching to an SSD means your computer starts up much faster—often in just a few seconds. Previously, with the OEM HDD, boot time was around 30 seconds and it took nearly two minutes for everything to stabilize. Is this the level of sluggishness you're experiencing?

I enhanced a few details to your original message. I believe this issue has always occurred, though it's uncommon. My PC is only six to seven months old, but I'm noticing it more often lately. There don't seem to be any settings changes I can think of. I recently moved my PC, which might have been damaged during transport—possibly from a disk repair on startup. This could be linked to the power supply not being switched off properly. Additionally, airflow may be reduced now, causing slightly higher temperatures.

My SSD is functioning well but showing signs of wear. Programs and game assets are loading slowly, and frame rates are decreasing.

Open the task manager and search for any unusual activity. It might be something repeatedly accessing storage, causing performance issues.

I notice a distinction in your performance metrics. Your FPS is notably higher than usual, and you have a substantial amount of pagefile space available.

It's not just reasonable to point the fault at the hard drive, unless the person in question uses an outdated one.
