PC performance varies across systems. My setup has an i7-9700 and GTX 1070 Ti with 16 GB RAM, while another machine with similar specs runs much smoother. On Fortnite and gaming, lag disappears there. At home it struggles with Discord and dual monitors, but my own PC handles those tasks without issues. The only difference is the SSD drive and a higher refresh rate screen at my dad's setup.
The standard turbo boost for non-K CPUs is just 65W, which limits peak performance. Open the BIOS and adjust both PL1 and PL2 turbo settings to at least 150W. The 8700K features six cores and twelve threads, while the 9700 offers eight cores and eight threads. Performance is constrained by power limits, and without an SSD, your games will load all data from a slower HDD. Upgrading to an SSD would significantly improve speed.
