I think the issue might not be with the mobo or CPU. Do you have someone nearby who can exchange components and test them? When the CPU error light appeared, do you mean the mobo's diagnostic LED? If yes, inspect the 4-pin or 8-pin power cable at the top left of the mobo, on both the mobo side and the PSU side. Moving computers around often leads to unexpected problems. Many people probably face similar issues at LAN events.

The diagnostic LED was active on your old motherboard but not on the new one. When you mention checking the power cable, are you asking about verifying its functionality or ensuring it's properly connected?
