Synchronization issue detected between audio and video streams.
Hi everyone, recently over the past couple of weeks my PC has been having trouble syncing video and audio. After a few minutes into a video, the sound doesn’t match the picture. The only way to get them back in sync is to rewind the video slightly. This issue usually happens around 2 minutes into playback. I’ve encountered this with different media—MPC-HC, VLC, YouTube, Netflix, and anime sites. With VLC I adjusted the audio desync compensation to -15, but the problem returns after a while. The setting stayed at that value. It seems to be connected to my Windows or PC overall, not just the media player or network. The audio always plays ahead of the video. I don’t play games much, usually use headphones, so it’s hard to say for sure. Could anyone have faced this problem before? If yes, what did you do to fix it?
So I figured out the fix pretty quickly after mentioning it online. When I'm not playing games or watching movies, I let my Folding@Home client run quietly in the background. I disabled the "on idle" setting so it could work while I did lighter tasks like streaming videos. It seems that was the cause of the issue. After sharing my experience, I decided to stop letting the F@H client run automatically. I checked the "On Idle" option and moved on to watching a show from a downloaded file. The problem with audio sync disappeared completely. Now I just share this tip if anyone needs it. Short version: Avoid running F@H in the background if you're having sync problems.
Yesterday's fix isn't holding up now. The issue persists even if F@H remains active in the background, whether it's turned off or stopped. Any tips or ways to resolve this would be appreciated!
I've been facing the same issue for quite some time now—it just popped up unexpectedly. I think I might have discovered a workaround... check out this guide: https://neosmart.net/wiki/fix-realtek-audio-delay-lag/. It's a manual for updating a Realtek driver, and it seems to have resolved my audio sync problem. However, it's possible the Nvidia driver has a bug, so trying an older version could also be a good idea.
