Hi everyone, I've been working to reduce power use and noise on my home NAS. Because electricity costs a lot here, I've set up the system to shut down drives after 30 minutes of inactivity. However, at 2 AM every night, the system restarts them for maintenance. Since defragmenting happens only once a week, I'd like the maintenance to occur more frequently—weekly or every couple of days. I've learned that spinning up drives causes wear, so I want to limit that. So far, I've adjusted the timing but not the schedule. Thanks!
