I'm not completely confident about this. I recently updated Arch and faced problems with Steam using NTFS-formatted disks. I could still access the drives and data, but my options were limited until I installed ntfs-3g. I had to manually add entries in fstab to replicate the setup shown in the video I linked. I've also seen some tutorials about adjusting settings for AMD GPUs on Linux, where performance can be affected by default energy-saving profiles. Changing these settings via terminal can improve results, though finding detailed guidance has been challenging. Personally, I've noticed better performance with Nvidia hardware on Linux than with AMD, especially on Nvidia GPUs. The HoloIso issue makes sense given its connection to the Steam Deck OS. Also, OpenSuse tends to behave poorly with my Nvidia hardware (3080 Ti), causing artifacts and instability that other distributions don't have. I'm currently using Arch again, but I'm eager to try Fedora 40 with Plasma 6 once it releases.

I haven't reinstalled Windows in a while—used to do it about a year and a half ago. Recently, some issues started. I've had crashes and can't even watch movies without them. I've been fixing computers for 20 years, so I'm not sure what's going on, but it doesn't matter. For everyday tasks, Mint works really well. I just installed it last night using RufusUSB from the Mint site, but it gave me a black screen. Now everything is functioning properly. I don't intend to "program" anything or anything like that...just use it normally.

Hey! I don't play those kinds of games or follow MMOs. My 11-year-old son is mostly on Fortnite, Asphalt 9 Legends, and that's about it. I use Steam with over 130 titles, Epic Games with more than 300 (many free), and EA/Origin apps—though I don’t really use them. I haven’t checked my RAM, but I ran CPU tests in Prime95 and GPU tests in FurMark. The CPU showed a little error—expected 0.4, got 0.5. FurMark ran for an hour and a half at full load (72-73°C). Everything seemed normal.

I rely on simple tools for my everyday tasks: Firefox linked via my Android and Windows accounts, a basic office suite available on Mint, and Steam. That’s all. I never activated Terminal. Just stability is what matters. P.S. My dual-boot setup with Windows 10 stopped working when I switched from Mint.

I faced the initial issue and decided to move folders like "Music, Videos, Downloads etc." to a Windows hard drive using NTFS. Additionally, qBittorrent restricts saving downloaded files elsewhere except to HOME or the Computer, where you can switch between Music, Video, and Downloads. This feels like a limited feature in Windows...why isn't it the same in Mint? P.S. Don’t tell me I need to format all HDDs to ext4 or something... My drives are 3TB almost full and 1TB half full.
