Switching display settings from built-in graphics to a dedicated GPU
Hello everyone, I'm working on switching my laptop's display to use the Nvidia GeForce 1660 Ti instead of the built-in Radeon graphics on my Ryzen 7 4800U. I've tried various approaches like disabling the graphics via Device Manager and BIOS settings, but it always causes the screen to go black and then switch back to the CPU's graphics. My goal is to avoid the conflict between the two GPUs and reduce the heat from running multiple applications at once. The CPU tends to overheat because it's forced to handle everything on the CPU instead of my preferred GPU. Most of the time, the laptop still opts for the integrated graphics even when I set it otherwise. Should I need to physically connect my display and change its settings to rely on the GPU? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
