You can rename the drive by accessing the settings menu, selecting the drive, and entering a new name in the appropriate field.

It seems you may need to create a temporary admin account to log in and update your name. The process might restrict changing the username for the active user, especially on macOS where the system name remains unchanged unless you restart. On Windows, this isn’t as common, but it’s worth checking if that applies to your situation.

I modified the name some time back, but the original remains unchanged and I’m unable to alter it further.

I had to perform that task earlier; you must set up a new user and adjust the registry. Typically, unless you use a character that conflicts with another program (like changing "1" to "!" which can interfere with Java), you should create the new account with full admin rights. Then log in as that account and exit the other one you wish to modify. Change the folder name for the user directory. Next, navigate to the registry and update the "ProfileImagePath" value to point to your desired file location for the new user. The registry path is found at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\<User SID>, where <User SID> matches the ID of the account you’re targeting. There’s a correct method, but searching through each key and checking for the directory you need is more straightforward. If you have any doubts, just let me know.
