I took out my air cooler from the PC to fit an AIO. All indicators and fans activated but I see red and yellow debug lights suggesting a CPU or RAM problem. After swapping in one RAM stick, the same issue persists. I reinstalled the CPU and checked for bent pins—nothing appears faulty. Even without the cooler, the machine still can’t boot.

Model: 7800x3d 32gb Corsair CL36 5600mhz B850M Gaming Plus Wi-Fi 6E MAG A750GL

Will the post be updated with the air cooler activated? Honestly, I did the installation upside down for the EK 360mm, so the pump sat a bit higher than the chip. It ran but crashed when Windows started. Make sure you double-check the air cooler setup to confirm everything functions properly now.

It doesn’t seem to matter whether you post with the air cooler or not. I’m confused because everything works right away after the AIO install, and I didn’t change the RAM or CPU. I’m thinking maybe it’s just the RAM issue, since that would be the least expensive solution.

Could the screw become loose and cause a short in the back of the motherboard? It’s something I’ve experienced before. If you can, remove the board from the case and test it on a different enclosure to rule out case-related issues.

I’d say another factor might have shifted. Installing an AIO wouldn’t immediately ruin the RAM. I’ve swapped out coolers multiple times without any problems. The worst scenario would be double-checking every connection, even taking it apart and starting fresh. Something probably came loose or got hit.

It might just be missing the CPU fan connector while the BIOS safety settings remain enabled. That could also prevent the system from starting. Using the older air cooler likely means the CPU fan connector wasn’t reconnected.
