The X series CPUs were built with overclocking in mind, and Ryzen Master offers a single button that handles everything, making it useful for those who aren't familiar with overclocking.

I often rely on that comparison, but the 5950X isn’t within reach. The 5700X fits my budget. "Med retired Army..." though I do have a pension, it’s not substantial, so I’m having to be careful with every penny this time.

Absolutely, I'm here with you. The Air Force helped me build a lot of my PC back then, and I had the means to do so. Now, things have been tough financially lately.

I have experience boosting performance. I’ve been assembling and tweaking computers since I was around thirteen. My father, who was seventy-six, worked on massive IBM systems in the late days and introduced us to desktops when they became popular. Games like Doom, Quake, and Tomb Raider were among them. Now I’m thirty-four. After an injury, I decided to try building a computer from scratch without help. I stick to what I know and even taught myself micro-soldering, logic board work, and used microscopes to improve efficiency. I thought the G-series could run alongside the 6600, almost like a 6700XT, but I was mistaken. I’m still learning and adapting.

Thanks for your feedback. During my MEB, I was excused from formations because our CSM at Fort Sam discovered I was working on my personal and work computers outside of scheduled times. There were no morning or evening drills, which was a welcome change. I just had to focus on my appointments.

You're lucky to have a supportive dad. I discovered this by buying used 2000s computers for around $100–$200 and taking them apart as a teenager. Now I’m interested in restoring an IBM 5150 or an Amiga 1000, even though I don’t know how to use MSDOS—my goal is just to learn.

I can't handle no morning setups, my foot looks messed up from those booties, and I can't stretch my right leg much more because of knee surgery... still like, I love rucks.

It feels like Christmas to me, but my memory wouldn’t let me recall anything about MSDOS if I tried. My brother, on the other hand, is a different story. He develops code and handles logistics for the ISS with a NASA subcontractor. They’re also constructing a new Java from scratch—that’s beyond my understanding. That’s why I can’t handle Linux myself, and DOS brings it all back to mind. I can still copy and paste.

That's not good, man. We hit an IED. I had an open dislocation fracture of the femur and knee, plus an open dislocation of the humerus and shoulder. My right hand was broken, a left rib fractured, and it caused a tension pneumothorax when it punctured my lung. My lower back broke, and my right frontal lobe tore, leading to bleeding for nine days and four more incidents. I was in a coma for a month and a week, spent three years in the hospital recovering, and now I'm still an outpatient. Ironically, my feet hurt more than my bones most of the time, haha.
