Swapping CPU’s
Your new Ryzen 2600 should arrive tomorrow to replace the 2400G, which was limiting your GTX 1070 performance. You can swap them directly without any issues—just ensure you install the necessary updates for both the CPU and GPU drivers. Reinstalling the GPU drivers is usually required after a hardware change. No further complications expected!
the updates are based solely on release dates, a second generation processor is a second generation processor. you'll see that all manufacturers specify BIOS version compatibility by generation, not by topology. we also never received the motherboard used by OP; if it's B450 and newer, it should work out of the box.
Don’t stress, I upgraded to a new CPU to resolve this issue. The Ryzen 2600 will replace the 2400G, which was limiting my GTX 1070. Just to confirm, these aftermarket upgrades might be the cause of the bottleneck.
Additionally, my bio version indicates p5.10 works well with my new 2600.
