You can modify the behavior so that deletion prompts require a password, without changing how you access files or folders. This way, you get protection against accidental permanent deletes while still allowing normal access.

The only way I understand is creating read-only versions, since changing files might be seen as deletion by Windows. If you want folders to stay accessible while preventing deletions, third-party tools could be the solution.
