Hello, I'm facing issues with my old PC (HP Pavilion t780). Last night I ran the antivirus and it asked for a reboot when done. During the restart, it suddenly locked itself, and the message "WINDOWS IS STARTING UP..." stayed frozen throughout. After unplugging and turning it back on, the same problem keeps happening. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this? I don't want to lose my important files.

You may need to reinstall; do you have another machine? You could transfer the hard drive and save the necessary files.

Power on, press and hold/F8 following the splash screen, then initiate system recovery or startup recovery. If nothing happens, it will require a reinstall. (Was that done yesterday...)

Try safe mode first to check if it boots into Windows
