You've set up your own router with a Dell PC and installed Untangle software. If your child connects an Xbox and their Nat type becomes more lenient, you might want to consider adjusting the settings to keep your Nat type consistent—perhaps by fine-tuning the rules or using parental controls.

The only thought that comes to mind is if you and your child are playing the same game, it might be a firewall problem. Not exactly an issue, but the idea is that ports in a firewall can only be open for one device at a time. For example, if a game uses port 100, only one machine on the network can have that port open. I’m not sure about Untangled, but many routers have UPNP which can dynamically open ports when requested by software. If both of you are playing Call of Duty, there could be a conflict.
