You're facing an issue where the system needs the correct driver for your CD/DVD drive, even though it's functioning well. You can try searching for the exact model online and downloading the appropriate driver from the manufacturer's website. If you need further help, feel free to share more details! Thank you for your question.

Check if it's a custom-built system, review the specifications, and confirm whether the CD drive is internal.

Do you have the original Windows DVD? What version of Windows is it? Machine specifications?

You likely just need to extract the driver files. Typically, when you get drivers, they come as an MSI or EXE but require an inf file. However, I haven’t seen a DVD drive appear in the Windows Installer. Are you using an installation disc designed for a particular manufacturer’s system? This is relevant because Dell, for instance, might bundle a DVD with their systems stripped of all drivers except those needed for devices inside Dell’s own setup. If you’re running a retail copy of Windows 7 or a standard OEM disc, it should include generic PnP drivers compatible with most DVD drives.
