The HP Bar updates smoothly during each attack sequence without refreshing the page; we're using CSS3 animations for a seamless feel. (Currently working with JQuery and some Ajax calls). All items are draggable to their respective slots, and positions are saved on the server side. I don't think the length of an xp bar or logo location is going to stop me from playing a game. i wouldn't worry about the small thing unless there is good reason to.
I agree with the idea. Setting the middle width to 980px works well for most browsers. For mobile, it would be simpler to create a smaller version using scaled-down images and graphics.
