Hey everyone, just noticed my system running quite warm during idle. I'm trying to figure out why. My setup looks like this: 5900x X570 Aorus Master (bios F35e), Trident Z 4x8G 4000MHz, 980 Pro 1TB, ASUS dual 3070 H150 Elite Capellix Lian Li 011D case, 850W PSU, PBO: PPT 160 TDC 115 EDC 120 CO (-10 to -25), RAM with XMP at 4000MHz and auto-fine-tuning (currently at 1800). I'm confused because when I set it to 2000 for a 1:1, it doesn't stabilize. My main issue is the high idle temps—right now, with Firefox open, I'm at 45-59°C, but when loading games like Apex or PUGB, it drops to 68-72°C. I've read some tips and wonder if I should tweak the OC more or try a higher Vcore (around 4550MHz) and lower Vcore slightly (like 1.2).
Idle temps are irrelevant. At 45°C it’s actually quite cold for the chip, so there’s no need for your cooling system to kick in and create extra noise.
