Support Guide for MOBO Zen 3
Support Guide for MOBO Zen 3
I'm still learning about building my first PC, so I was planning to use a Ryzen 5000 chipset. I bought this motherboard thinking it would work well, but now I'm worried I might have made a big mistake. After watching Paul's Hardware, I found out the BIOS for the B550/x570 wasn't released until late September, with more updates coming in mid-October. My concern is that if my board isn’t part of the second BIOS update (which I got on the 19th), I might not be able to run it properly. I was hoping just to install my Ryzen 3000 and skip the APU, but now I’m unsure if it’s compatible. Could anyone clarify whether I already have a BIOS that supports a R5000 series CPU? Thanks for your help!
I reviewed MSI’s support documentation, which outlines the BIOS launch dates and the BOOT/POST BIOS for Zen3 released on the final day of August. I also found an article on Hothardware listing the boards and their BIOS versions at that time. I hadn’t realized to check MSI’s site directly, so I’m sorry for not doing it sooner. Please take a step back and review your approach before starting your build. Thank you!
