I'm likely one of the rare users who enjoys Windows 8/8.1 and appreciates its touch features. My view probably stems from owning a Surface Pro 3, yet I still struggle to force myself to use IE. Firefox offers robust extension support and privacy tools, but it's missing the pinch-to-zoom functionality. Chrome also falls short in this area. I'm curious if anyone knows of another browser or an extension that can replicate smooth pinch-to-zoom like IE. Short answer: NO PINCHY SUPPORT?

Chrome offers smooth pinch-to-zoom functionality. Some users mentioned the touch implementation isn't great, but I haven't encountered any issues.

Chrome pinch zooming is not working right. It doesn't works as you would expect. The best I found is IE11. The only web browser that not only has super fast and smooth scrolling, but also proper pinch zoom, and high-DPI support. After some reach ('cause I have the Surface Pro 2), the problem is in order for Firefox to support touch control properly and super smooth scrolling, is that Mozilla needs to do some massive changes on its engine. I don't know the current status of this, but i think they waiting for a larger market share of touch enabled devices and tablets before investing time on it, as it is not an easy fix. In my opinion, Mozilla is not thinking ahead. They should be taking steps to be first, not play catch up. Personally I continue to use Firefox, as Chrome EATS my device battery life, and system resources, despite this annoyance. I am patiently waiting for Microsoft project Spartan. Personally, I find IE11 is fine. Sure not the fastest, but like I said, it does support multi-touch, high-DPI, and has super smooth scrolling, not to mention give you the most battery life. If only it had add-ons. Project Spartan in Windows 10 will be a faster web browser, keeping all these advantage, support modern web technologies and standards, and rumors says that it will have add-on support. Also Chrome monitors the sites you go, and ties everything you do the moment to log into a Google account service, even in private mode. Thanks, but I like my privacy. Not to mention that I am starting to not like Google bully tactics on the industry and their sever push of their services that no one wants.
