Support for new build OC
Support for new build OC
Hello Team, I recently assembled a new gaming setup a few weeks back. The system is operating smoothly with default configurations, but I’m attempting to push the CPU overclock to utilize its full potential. Here are the details of my current build:
- CPU: Intel Core i9 13900K
- Motherboard: MSI MEG Z790 ACE
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti
- RAM: 32 GB DDR5 at 5600 MHz (Corsair Vengeance)
- Power Supply: Corsair 1000W Gold Certified Full-Module
- Cooler: beQuiet Dark Pro 4 with Overclock settings via MSI BIOS
- BIOS: P cores offset +1, allowing all cores up to 56 GHz max; E cores at 46 GHz
- RAM Speed: 5600 MHz at full voltage
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (latest MSI release)
I performed a 3DMark benchmark with both Time Spy and FireStrike, both completed successfully with no crashes. Cinebench ran smoothly for 15 minutes without issues. After playing a game for about two hours, the system remained stable. Once I played "Ano Warrior 2" for roughly two hours, everything worked flawlessly. After finishing, I waited ten minutes before running another benchmark; the PC crashed, so I restarted and re-ran 3DMark and FireStrike—both passed without problems.
I lowered the E cores to 45 and increased the CPU voltage to 0.0010, then ran additional benchmarks. Everything returned clean after about an hour and thirty minutes. I played another round of "Ano Warrior 2" for an hour, followed by another benchmark ten minutes later, which also completed successfully.
It seems my rig was stable initially but lost performance once I adjusted the E cores and voltage. I’m curious—could the PSU be the culprit? I checked CPU temperatures, they hovered around 87°C, so thermal throttling doesn’t appear to be the main issue. I’m open to suggestions or tips to help stabilize the overclock.
P.S. I ran "Ano Warrior 2" at 1440p both times for reference. I’m also planning to use this machine for rendering tasks later, so I’ll start overclocking now to explore further improvements. Thanks!
Your RAM OC performance has been moderate so far. The 32Gb DDR5 configuration may not be optimal.
