This device has been hidden away in the closet for a while before I learned about computers. Today I decided to take a look inside. The CPU appears to be an Intel Pentium. I thought turning it on would reveal more details, but I don’t have the right connectors. I’m not sure if I should just discard it.

Seems like some outdated Dell Dimension models from the Windows XP/Vista era. It might not be worth keeping unless you're interested in older software. The Pentium D chips were quite underwhelming at launch because they relied on an aging design similar to the Pentium 4 Prescott, running hot and underperforming. This poor performance helped pave the way for Intel's Core 2 series, which later succeeded with the Pentium III. And wow, that BestTec power supply is definitely a red flag—bet to skip it. Who knows what could go wrong?

That PSU is a potential issue waiting to occur. It’s an older Socket 775 setup with a 940 Pentium D Presler dual-core processor and some DDR memory. Probably suitable for basic browsing or nostalgic use today, but not much more.
