I’m proposing to add popular services like YouTube, Netflix, Pandora, etc., to Steam so gamers wouldn’t have to switch modes.

A quick overview: I used to play on consoles, but discovered PC gaming and really enjoyed it. Now I’d love to use Steam as a console if only Valve made some adjustments. Here are my main points for you to consider:

1. Fix the browser issue – it works in favorites but not when opening new tabs.
2. Integrate major apps (YouTube, Netflix, Google services, etc.) into Steam so they function smoothly.
3. Add a VLC or similar app that lets you play music, playlists, and videos inside Steam.

People might wonder why we need these tools when browsers can handle it, but the problem is that desktop browsers aren’t built for home use or controller control. A dedicated app would make things much easier. Why should Valve prioritize this? Because it unites gaming with media, making Steam more appealing to everyone—from gamers to everyday users.

They’ve already got a strong library and community; what they’re missing is seamless integration across platforms. This could really boost Steam’s appeal beyond just PC players.

Side note: If you install office or office alternatives and add them to non-Steam apps, you can launch them from Big Picture and use a mouse/keyboard.

What do you all think?

They already possess the music player. It's somewhat rough but functions adequately.

Use IE for a better experience instead of your poor browser.

I noticed a few issues with the app. It doesn't handle playlists well and struggles to open videos or images. What could be causing this?

Absolutely, it's much quicker to interact with this platform than with the Steam Browser.

The idea seems promising—could be a useful feature added to Steam. What are your thoughts on the overall concept?
