I am suspecting my memory to be a problem in my pc as when i first got it it didnt want to boot on xmp but we went to the vendor he re-connected them and reset bios and they worked fine but however i do get microstuttering which is noticeable in games like fortnite and control so i really suspect its the memory. I do not know how to trouble shoot the memory as there could be a bad stick or maybe 2 bad sticks so i want the best way to make sure my memory is fine and i hope that its anything other than an 8 hour memory test i just dont have that patience unless its literally the only way. i have 4 sticks of 8gb corsair vengeance rgb pro memory for some reason 2 are dual rank and 2 are single rank but i guess its cuz they came in different boxes (i bought 2 of the 2x8 boxes). also my gpu and cpu are pretty much performing very well and im pulling the frames im supposed to be pulling using a 3080 and r7 5800x but its just the microstuttering that drops my fps and gpu usage all of a sudden. The issue seems to be with mismatched memory modules. It’s possible the two kits don’t match, which can cause problems even if the RAM is technically functional. Check the speeds of each kit individually and test them one at a time. If one doesn’t perform well, it might not be worth keeping. Lowering the speed temporarily could help stability. Avoid sending faulty units; getting a working set would be better. For Zen3 chips under 3600MTs, XMP profiles may fail unless you manually adjust settings. Higher CL ratings aren’t always better—opt for a reliable 3200CL16 if possible. A 3600CL16 should work without issues.
He gave me two separate boxes containing 2x8 3200MHz CL16 memory with identical clock speeds but different sub-timings. It’s disappointing, but I’ll give it a shot as you suggested. Regarding performance, they’re indeed around 3200MHz, so if my R5 can handle 3733MHz, I’m confident a 5800X should manage 3200MHz too.
The shop seems unwilling to accept these items. Zen3 will function at 3200MHz, so challenge them about getting the incorrect product and hold them responsible.
