Hello everyone. Do you have any suggestions or personal experience? I’m located in the countryside with a decent but slow and costly internet connection. The current speeds are around 10/2, and my mobile provider recently launched 4G in my area, offering up to 120/100 Mbps. I’ve tried tethering, but I’d like a dedicated router with a second SIM card for more reliable data. My ISP says I use about 75GB per month, so a plan with a SIM and data would be more affordable and faster than my present setup. I’m looking for recommendations and thoughts.

Do you need a portable Wi-Fi solution such as a Netgear M1? Many providers provide dedicated packages just for hotspots.

@PorkishPig Not sure if it's a hotspot or not. It will be my primary internet source instead of what I have now. I was looking at these. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01N5AS...6JVX&psc=1 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01EY11...F41W&psc=1 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07NVR7...EEQB&psc=1 needs a dongle I think, Not sure how it works. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00BN36...46QV&psc=1

Many of the items you mentioned resemble a mobile hotspot without a battery. Devices like the Nighthalk M1 offer stronger built-in Wi-Fi and faster upload speeds. This option works well if you already have wireless equipment. Be aware it’s capped at 50Mb/s upload. Pairing it with an antenna can improve results. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00DN3J03O This router is meant to connect to a modem, but it’s quite costly. The LTE model provides very limited Wi-Fi performance.

The Mofi seems to be a consideration, but it appears the Nighthawk model lacks a dedicated SIM card slot.

I don't have enough information about it to really give solid advise regarding it. It seems a bit too expensive, and the benefits are not entirely clear to me. It looks like its main selling point is carrier compatibility. Specifications available at http://mofinetwork.com/files/MOFI4500_4G..._Sheet.pdf . There's a removable panel for nano SIM installation. Amazon is selling it for quite a lot of money, I would not spend $600 for it.

I'll check out some options for better deals on the Nighthawk. It offers improved speeds and seems user-friendly. I can place it on top of my rack and link it directly to my switch for things like NAS, Nvidia shield, or TV. The reviews I read about Netgear sparked my interest, but I noticed the speeds are somewhat constrained. A review from someone using the same carrier, Sasktel, stood out to me.
