Sudden repeated crashes across the system
Hey there, newcomers! I just rebuilt my PC around Christmas 2023 and everything has been working smoothly since. But about a week ago, I started seeing multiple BSODs, and now I’m stuck. At first I considered a faulty driver, but all the ones I checked were fine. I removed AVG antivirus, which I thought might be the culprit, but the problem continued. I’m receiving various error codes each time, with one specific code appearing repeatedly—IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL—and another code called UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. I checked the Reliability Monitor and saw a BSOD in January, though I wasn’t home then. My PC hasn’t had any crashes until February 22nd? I’m sharing some mini dump files below; I’m really losing patience... What I’ve tried so far: running memory tests, scanning for errors, checking disks, deleting recent software, wiping drivers and reinstalling everything, ensuring the CPU is seated properly, removing my OC (XMP profile), and even lowering the CPU frequency. My specs are Intel i9-12900KS, Asus Prime z790-a, RTX 3070, Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5, and I’m using Windows 10. I’m asking for any advice, this is getting frustrating!
It's surprising I hadn't noticed crashes before January 28th. The Event Viewer now shows what happened. I've restored the CPU to its original settings and will check later to confirm it works. Unfortunately, this seems to be the next step—I didn’t want to reinstall the OS, but I’m hoping all my hardware passed the tests.
It's a harsh decision to need to reinstall the operating system. I've done this numerous times. Stay safe and good luck.
