My MSI laptop with a 60Hz screen renders over 180 frames per second in Fortnite. If I were to purchase a 165Hz monitor and link it to my laptop, would I perceive a smooth 165Hz experience on the monitor?
I suggest utilizing a DisplayPort cable. Your laptop and the updated monitor will both require a DisplayPort connection. If your laptop lacks one, it should possess an HDMI port. For the best possible visual experience, both presently and in the future should you enhance your graphics capabilities, an HDMI 2.0 cable is advised.
If you’re viewing at a 1080p resolution, performance should be acceptable. However, 144Hz appears to be the ideal or highest refresh rate that a 1080p display could effectively use with that graphics card; therefore, a rate of 165 might not deliver the desired results.
