I set up a brand new Windows 11 Pro version on an older laptop lacking TPM or SecureBoot support by using registry modifications during setup (BypassTPMCheck, BypassSecureBoot). After installation, I was able to enroll in the Insider program's dev channel. In Windows Insider settings, I received confirmation that my PC meets the minimum requirements, though the channel selection was limited. A few weeks prior, after installing Windows 11, I could only join the Release Preview channel. This time, when joining Insider, I selected dev, beta, and release preview channels. I joined the dev channel but still receive warnings. Recently, I attempted to bypass the dev channel using a registry hack again. I gained access to the dev channel and received new builds, but installation failed repeatedly because it didn’t satisfy the PC requirements. This created an endless loop of downloads and installations that kept failing. I had to revert the changes in the registry. Now, after officially joining the program, Windows indicated my system doesn’t meet the minimum criteria. I’m wondering if I can still install the latest official build.
You cracked it! If you're running Windows 11, you're part of an insider group and receive early updates, though you won't get the official final versions.
It wasn't feasible prior to the insider build, as I mentioned earlier. Even with a Windows 11 insider release, joining the development channel was blocked if your system didn’t satisfy the necessary criteria.
what are you really debating? have you actually installed Windows 11? you won't find any fresh insider releases unless you join the dev channel, which wasn't an option before your PC didn't meet the necessary specs. I've finally managed to get in without meeting those requirements. If you don't join the dev channel, you'll remain stuck with the build you already have. Unless you manually download and install each new insider build ISO, joining the dev channel will upgrade you to all future releases. Microsoft recommends downgrading to Windows 10 once Windows 11 becomes available for public use. Until then, feel free to explore the insider previews.
