I removed the brackets and installed a Kraken X53. It seems to be functioning now, dropping from 81 degrees to 54 in BeamNG. I noticed my VRAMs are exposed without airflow, while the VRMs have airflow from a small 80mm Noctua cooler. I’ve already purchased some heatsinks and thermal pads. My question is, can I attach the heatsinks to the backside of the GPU, like on the PCB? I don’t want to reinstall the bulky AIO again. Is it okay to mount them on the PCB (the backside of the GPU)? My GPU is a Gigabyte RTX 2060 OC 6G Windforce Modded G12 Bracket Kraken X53 240mm AIO.

They should be placed on the front, but the PCB isn't offering sufficient cooling.

And I’ll also mention, wait until you install the heatsink before using that card. Otherwise, you risk damaging the RAM or VRM without them. The thermal paste should probably not suffice; thermal epoxy might be better to secure it in place. Once you’re done, there’s nothing you can change.

The PCB acts as an excellent thermal barrier, minimizing heat transfer. The VRM might reach 100°C, while the back side stays under 50°C. Attach heatsinks directly to the hot components and ensure they receive adequate airflow.

I removed the fan section from the bracket, my VRMs are on the left side and I wanted to place Longboi there, which would cause an issue. Will an 80 mm BeQuiet be sufficient to meet the VRM requirements?

The VRMs will be cooled directly because I can reach them, while the VRAMs are not accessible. I'm inquiring about the VRAM.

VRM and memory both require heatsinks that are firmly attached, with forced airflow directed over them. Without this setup, the components will fail soon—possibly very soon—because heat buildup can cause them to stop working. GPU RAM also generates heat and needs a heatsink to manage it.

VRM and memory both require heatsinks that are firmly attached, with forced airflow directed over them. Without this setup, the components will fail soon—possibly very soon—because heat buildup can cause them to stop working. GPU RAM also generates heat and needs a heatsink to manage it.
