Hello everyone, I recently assembled a new gaming PC about three days ago. From the moment I connected the power cord and pressed the power button, everything worked perfectly. Windows launched normally, and all internal parts—including the GPU fan—started up and received power. The case fans and chassis components also activated without issue. However, there was no display or any input from the keyboard or mouse.

When the system enters a problematic state, it won’t shut down when I hold the power button on the case. To get it back online, I have to unplug the power cable entirely, wait a short time, then reconnect and turn it on. Once that happens, it boots again normally, but the cycle repeats every shutdown. It looks like the PC is entering a non-responsive mode that needs a full power cut to reset.

I’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps:
- RAM inspection and cleaning
- Testing DIMM slots
- Checking BIOS settings (EXPO/XMP disabled)
- Attempting a BIOS update, which required a system reset and caused the monitor signal to vanish
- Using a DisplayPort cable for the monitor

Power stability seems to be an issue. The system appears to lose power abruptly during low-power transitions, making it hard to recover without a full reset.

What should I do next?
Please advise on how to identify the root cause—whether it’s related to the power supply, motherboard configuration, or RAM timing. Your guidance will help me resolve this effectively. Thank you!

The CPU appears to be AM5. Attempt to connect the monitor to the board via the integrated graphics card and/or an additional HDMI cable to the GPU.

What is happening? Either option applies when the PC reaches this condition. Pressing the power button usually takes around 15 seconds to shut down. Avoid entering low-power mode; I always shut it off. A speaker linked to the motherboard could assist. Edited November 18, 2025 by leclod
