Stutters in games (PC)
Stutters in games (PC)
Hi, I've been facing annoying stutters in some of my games, particularly LEGO titles. I'm puzzled as to why this happens. I've tried various solutions and checked online forums, but these aren't the latest reports. Notably, in games like Lego Batman 2, when entering the Batcave during free roam, it lags in the same spots, and flying around Gotham City causes constant stutters. I've also capped my FPS at 60 without resolving the issue, so it seems the game itself might be the problem. Similar problems have been reported in Lego Lord of the Rings, Lego Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and even 7 Days to Die.
Side note: many other games stutter when entering new areas, but I've noticed this pattern by watching others play.
Games that often experience stutters:
- Star Wars: Fallen Order (same spots)
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Fortnite
- 7 Days to Die
- MW Warzone
- Lego games in general
My system specs:
RTX 3070, I7 9700k, 16GB RAM at 3000MHz, 240Hz monitor with G-Sync.
It could be that your PC is more capable than the game requires. I face similar issues when playing League of Legends since it’s built for older systems. You meet all the necessary conditions to play any title on your 1080p 240hz screen, including Cyberpunk.
Also, have you verified that your monitor or Windows 10 is not using HDR mode? This might impact your FPS, particularly in Fortnite where smooth performance matters.
In short, it seems the games are optimized for better performance, and I too hoped for flawless frames, but even powerful PCs can struggle sometimes.

Overall, it seems the games are optimized well for modern hardware, and I too hoped for flawless frames, but it turns out even powerful PCs can struggle sometimes.
Thank you for the reply. Yes, I understand that it really depends on how the games are optimized, as some stutters can occur in the same areas and it's disappointing, particularly with older Lego titles on PC where performance is lacking. Also, I'm not using HDR mode.
