I put in my R7 3700X and a Thermaltake Th240. After selling it, I replaced the original air cooler (the Wraith cooler or whatever) but now I’m trying to upgrade my motherboard. I’m having trouble getting the CPU out because it’s stuck in the socket, and my previous changes haven’t helped much. Anyone can assist?

No, I'm not lifting the retention arm.

Are you referring to the entire cooler? The thermal paste on AMD's stock cooler feels like glue. I once experienced the CPU sticking to it when I tried to remove it, as if it had just been pulled out forcefully with the retention arm still in place. Gently shift it sideways before pulling, but I worry it might be damaged this way.

I lifted the retention arm but tried all options already. Nothing helped.

Removing the retention arm doesn't remove the CPU. Perhaps you should unmount the heatsink just in case it wasn't unmounted.

Capture a high-definition close-up photo. This might help identify the problem.
