My secondary PC seems to be having some issues with BF4, it is a decent rig, but when an explosion comes in or just a little more dust or I shoot at someone, the FPS just go from 60-70 All the way down to 20-30 I'm thinking its just my CPU being a twat but I'm not sure. Specs: I5-2300 2.8 Ghz Gtx 960 Strix 2G Seagate Baracuda 2Tb Q67 Cheap mobo cheap case

Execute the performance test; it will usually indicate issues. Also, check how much background activity is consuming resources.

Consider increasing the settings; your GPU seems almost inactive.

It seems your system is experiencing delays when certain features activate. Make sure your configurations are set to their minimum levels, particularly Effects Quality and Post-Processing Quality, Anti-Aliasing Post. Consider turning off any physics settings—Bf4 doesn’t appear to have one. If the issue persists, inspect your display driver’s control panel for any misconfigurations. If slowdowns happen only during effects like explosions or dust, the problem likely relates to their rendering. Try adjusting your display settings, such as ShadowCaptain’s recommendation, and observe if the performance improves. If it worsens, gradually reduce settings while keeping others at their current levels until you identify the culprit.

Perhaps I don't see this as often since I rely on the Mantle API. I notice a drop in the silo, and on the Giants of Karelia map, when the silo roof is opened, dust spreads everywhere.
