I recently purchased an Athlon 200GE for a budget build and heard it could be overclocked, but I’m struggling to do so. My friend also bought one and managed to overclock it using a BIOS from an A320M motherboard. I have an MSI A320M Pro-E motherboard. Is the BIOS the manufacturer or the BIOS? I’ve updated my BIOS to the latest beta version, but it still doesn’t work. According to CPU-Z, it’s stuck at 3.2 GHz and the BIOS shows 3.8 GHz—this is confusing. Can you help me get the RAM from 2667 to 3200 MHz? Every time I try, it reverts back to the default speed.

It seems you're attempting an unstable overclock, which causes the BIOS to reset to its standard settings.

The 200GE doesn't support an unlocked multiplier, and the A320 model doesn't permit overclocking (though certain makers have skirted this in some BIOS updates). This means you won't be able to overclock much if you're following the manufacturer's guidelines. If you want more performance, you might consider boosting the BCLK value, but be aware this could impact the stability of other parts too.

I watched videos showing 200ge unlocked with mods, but others were using OC builds. The motherboard they had wasn’t an A320. I’m still puzzled why I can’t get mine the same way.

A320 and the 200ge are models that don’t allow overclocking. Of course, the 200ge can be pushed a bit faster with certain BIOS tweaks, but that’s not possible on the A320 boards (unless they have a faulty BIOS that lets it). In any case, black OC units tend to be unreliable.

It's the board. The bios is locked. Only chance at OC is start at original bios revision. If the OC option is missing at first revision, then it will not be there in later revisions. My B450M-A overclocks my 200ge and 220ge. However no OC option available for iGPU and OC software like Ryzen master is greyed out for processor OC.

He seems to have managed to customize his 200GB SSD with an A320 MOMO while you're unsure about the manufacturer's role. It might just be a matter of understanding the specifics of his build or the components involved.

My Asus A320 isn't supporting the 200ge update. I own that board too. It seems Gigabyte is the only one with A320 boards that can be updated, though it might need a particular BIOS. There were a few at launch three years back that worked, but my unit wasn't among them.
