Strong loudspeaker noise and elevated CPU usage during game recording (5900X + 3060Ti)
Under typical conditions, my 280mm AIO stays quiet during gameplay without recording. However, occasionally with NVIDIA recording, CPU temperatures can rise sharply to around 85°C while a loud AIO noise occurs. This situation involves a 4000X setup, an older unit, and only the CPU side was checked in April. Is this typical for AMD users experiencing similar spikes?
PBO enabled boosts performance to 85°C across all cores at 4.5GHz+ with 150W+ power. The main concern is fan noise; reducing the speed slightly will lower it, or you can cap the power output at 100W and enable eco mode.
When you turn on PBO and experiment with the curve, 5900X really shines. I must admit it’s a bit disappointing that your AIO isn’t powerful enough, and the CPU feels sluggish—consider a better cooler or upgrading the CPU. Just know that 5900X can handle up to 235W of power.
