Indicates that oil escaped through the fan, and once it stops leaking, the fan may begin to produce sound, shake, and eventually fail.

The system has been running for about three years now. I haven’t noticed any other sounds besides the air being moved by the fan. It seems to match what @porina mentioned—possibly some fresh oil hitting a hot part, giving off that odor. I’ll attempt to run it again and check if the issue persists.
