Strix B550-E and the Mystery of Vanishing Bluetooth
I’m looking for some guidance on this problem. After setting up my system, everything seemed to work well until Bluetooth vanished completely. I’ve tried updating the BIOS, running Windows Update, reinstalling Windows, resetting settings, installing the Intel Bluetooth drivers, using the hardware troubleshooter, and even toggling it on and off in the BIOS. Still nothing seems to help. Before I reinstalled Windows, the device would appear in Device Manager with Error 45, but after installation it disappeared entirely. My motherboard (ASUS Strix B-550E) has an Intel AX200NGW Wi-Fi 6/Bluetooth 5.1 module built right into it—so it’s not a standard M.2 card. The issue is confusing because one part works while the other doesn’t, even though the Wi-Fi side seems fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
From the AMD site, when the system was functioning, I relied on ArmouryCrate's update tool. After it stopped, I performed a clean format, reinstalled Windows, and added the B550 chipset drivers from their website. No unexpected devices appear in Device Manager now.
Your ASUS board appears to have disabled WiFi, audio, and Bluetooth within the BIOS settings. It seems this might be the issue you're experiencing.
It was my consideration too, yet I’ve confirmed the Bluetooth Controller is activated in the device management area of the BIOS.
I managed to fix this problem myself. Bluetooth is now functioning properly again. The last thing I did was disconnect my PC from the wall power for the night. Clearing CMOS didn’t help, but turning off the power resolved the issue and re-activated the hardware.
