I'm looking to dive into streaming but feel like I'm missing key skills. My upload speed is only .3 (probably too low). My CPU is a 750k at 4.4ghz (maybe not powerful enough). I have the stock GPU 7770, but I'm unsure if it's sufficient. I've tried using OBS and even the free version (bf3) didn't work well. I'm planning to test other options soon, but it seems I need to upgrade my hardware before I can stream smoothly.

Your upload quality is quite limited, making streaming mostly possible at 480P. Streaming at 720P60FPS is challenging with your current upload settings. 720P30FPS works just fine. Your CPU handles a lot of game streaming well, but the GPU may struggle with high FPS. Consider upgrading to an Nvidia GPU if you plan to livestream.

You really need a significantly stronger upload speed to enjoy any streaming quality, particularly for playing the latest titles. The processor is adequate but barely meets expectations; you’d avoid anything above 720p30 with it. The graphics card’s impact on streaming is minimal, so you’re better off prioritizing a capable GPU to achieve solid in-game performance for capturing and transmitting frames.

Speed matters most. Otherwise, you sacrifice quality, which then reduces your viewership. For live-streaming, you need more than just a computer—you also need good gear like a microphone and camera, plus a compelling personality that draws people in. If you're serious about streaming, you'd likely have already started if you're suited for it. If you're not ready to invest a lot upfront, it might not be worth the effort unless it's just for fun.

It seems Twitch suggests a 2mbs upload, though 1mbs might work but it's tight.

It's a bit of a personal pleasure, but it doesn't make sense if I can't even share quality content. That's why I'm keeping my 4 subscribers on YouTube.
