I ran my own quick tests this morning to check how much Xsplit affects my setup during a game session. I was surprised by the results—my performance dropped noticeably in nearly every category, with at least 5 FPS lost across all tests. These numbers are still manageable for casual play, but I’m worried about competitive players like those in CS:GO who rely heavily on low latency and high FPS.

Did you choose CPU or GPU encoding? A 5 fps rate isn't great. Also, which configuration are you using—720p30, 720p60, or 1080p30?

Use NVIDIA ShadowPlay with the native H264 codec supported by your GPU

It varies based on the type of streaming service used.

appears poor quality at reduced data rates, for watching videos.

Playing Solitaire confidently works well. Twitch supports up to 3500kbps upload, but at that speed NVENC and encoding can struggle significantly. Using x264 at 3500kbps delivers much better visual quality while using less CPU power.

I used my cpu for h.264 encoding, as it was sitting at about 30 percent utilization throughout. xsplit also caps you at 30 fps for non-premium. There is plenty of headroom for the cpu. I can do these numbers again for dgpu encoding, if you like.

Could you clarify if you're asking about OBS for streaming or something else?

Also consider the budget hardware you're using. The 750 Ti wouldn't be able to manage that level of demand at the same time during gameplay.

The H264 encoder operates independently on your GPU, built to eliminate the performance impact.
