Stream control via remote with network capabilities.
I was about to ask which option is better for transferring streams between computers. So far, I've found three possibilities: RustDesk, Moonlight, and using KVM. The last one with Steam on both machines seems the simplest. I forgot a video earlier, but if anyone else has suggestions, please share. I'm looking for similar setups if I already have one.
I understand Steam Link, which allows streaming games. I've tried it and it functioned at least on my Intel MacBook Pro, though your experience might differ since your PC was connected via Wi-Fi. All I needed was to open Steam. Other gaming clients are unclear about this. My rule is if a game isn't available on Steam, I won't play it.
I discovered an exciting project that’s launching with great energy. The video mentions network as crucial, and I plan to test the approach once I have time to configure everything. Here’s the video.
Hey, all thanks for the resources. I will have a look at all of those but for now I have set up Steam Remote Play over my gigabit networking, and it is running great with 4K @144hz, running streaming at about 120MBps. I'm getting around 15ms of display latency, and my room is close enough to my pc that the 2.4ghz wifi dongle for my controller still works plugged into the pc. I have just bought a 2.5Gbe network switch seeing that both my pc and my mac ethernet dongle are 2.5GBe and have confirmed a direct connection between them allows the Steam Remote Play speed to exceed the Gigabit limit, so will update with how that goes.
