Hey there! I've been facing some strange mouse issues lately, especially when playing games on my desktop. I own a Roccat Kone Pure Optical mouse, which is only about two months old and has the latest drivers installed. The problem is that my mouse feels sluggish in games—it keeps stuttering, like the sensor isn't working properly. It also slows down when I hover over icons on my desktop, as if my CPU is struggling. Switching back to my older Razer Deathadder model helps a bit during gameplay, though it still feels a bit off, like my sensitivity dropped unexpectedly. If anyone knows a fix or has dealt with similar issues, please share—I really appreciate any advice!

Are you certain your sensor is free of debris? Dust is common, so gently wipe it with a Q-Tip or alcohol. Keep your workspace tidy—desk or mouse pad should be spotless. Verify the Windows and mouse driver settings match correctly.

If the problem occurs on both the Roccat and Razer mouse, the issue likely isn't with the mouse itself. If it only happens in games and not in Chrome, verify that all your hardware components are functioning properly—such as checking the hard drive or SSD (not operating at full capacity) and monitoring CPU and GPU temperatures. It's also worth reviewing the drivers for any updates. Additionally, ensure your mice are connected to the same USB port; if possible, try using a different one.

You've made several adjustments and checked various settings, yet the issue persists. The mouse functions well in desktop mode, which is why it's worrying. I've cleaned the sensor, changed USB ports on my PC, reinstalled games, and even removed drivers for both Razer and Roccat mice to narrow down the cause. In-game everything seems normal, so I'm planning to reinstall drivers or other settings. Using my old Razer mouse is acceptable but not perfect. My PC still has problems when I open and close Task Manager, access the SSD, etc. I tried a cleanup tool, but it didn't help. It's quite strange.

Open Task Manager, verify CPU usage is normal, confirm RAM isn’t nearly full during gaming, and ensure motherboard chipset drivers are up to date.

I didn't note that I did it. My CPU runs smoothly during games, usually at 50-60% load while other background tasks are running. I looked for Windows updates and was about to install one, which might assist. I'll keep you informed.
