Strange RAM/bios problem Issue with memory or system settings
one at 3200MHz and another at 3000MHz. I tried both during testing and noticed the 3000MHz version ran slightly better in Cinebench and some games. Now I'm using it on an AMD system. When I adjusted the BIOS to apply the second profile, it displayed two XMP options but always showed the 3200MHz setting. Even in advanced mode, it still listed 3200MHz as the active profile. My BIOS doesn't allow me to switch to the 3000MHz one. I ran CPU-Z and it confirmed both profiles were detected correctly. Could you believe it? The BIOS seems to be missing something or there might be an issue with the profile support.

The Ryzen 7 3770X comes with 3200MHz memory by default. You can adjust it to 3000MHz and experiment with voltage/timing settings until it works smoothly, unless it’s stable out of the box. Generally, X.M.P. should be fairly stable without much tweaking, but some adjustments may be needed if issues arise.

It functioned well, but on the desktop it became unstable with noticeable delays during double-clicks. Watching YouTube videos would take around ten seconds before loading. There were many small issues like this. The second profile isn’t reliable on an AMD CPU. Intel works fine, but not on AMD. I experimented with timing settings, but stability came back to the 3200MHz profile. Also, sorry for not attaching the picture—I’m having trouble uploading images on this site. It might just be because I wasn’t using it correctly.
I was concerned about exceeding the voltage limit specified by cpu-z, so I avoided that. I'll make a small adjustment and give it another shot. The process works when I choose "upload image from url" at the bottom right. After uploading a picture from a website, I try to embed it using the provided link. However, when I click the "insert in to post" button, the interface turns red and doesn't respond. It seems my method might be incorrect. I'm unsure which image host is appropriate. Since I've been playing the game for a while, it feels unfamiliar to me.
I think i've got it. I had to set the dram votlage to 1.375v. And it's up and running. No lag. Not delays. I'm currently running prime95 blend because that is good for flagging up ram issues. It's been going for 20mns. All looks good. I'm going to run memtest86 on it overnight. That will tell me for sure. I know it's an overclock but this is for every day usage. Because of the timings, its about 8-10fps faster in some games. Especially single threaded games like x3 terran conflict, stalker clear sky and even though it is multi threaded, destiny 2 as well.
AMD Ryzen's results show greater reliance on RAM speed and timing compared to earlier AMD processors, except for APUs. (With the exception of APUs) You're likely experiencing better timing at 3000MHz than the comparable 3200MHz, which translates to improved performance.
