Strange problems with the RTX 5080, where Windows freezes and crashes with a blue screen.
I've encountered some difficulties with my RTX 5080 Gaming Trio OC White. It seems the situation isn't about a faulty GPU but possibly a power supply problem. The system functions normally when idle, but becomes unstable when launching games. Windows starts to slow down, then freezes after a few seconds to a minute, followed by a crash and a BSOD. The error codes reported are CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, Bugcheck code 239, and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT code 26. Occasionally the display turns grey or black, or shows distorted colors before the crash. I'm unsure what to do next. I plan to replace the PSU. The specs for this GPU are available online, but the issue persists even with the default BIOS and settings. I've used MSI Afterburner to undervolt the GPU, tested RAM with MemTest86 (no errors), and run the system with -20 PBO and EXPO. Several drivers have been tried, including DDU, yet the problem continues. I suspect a PSU fault because it produces loud coil whine only during gaming. I can perform benchmarks without issues, but the codes point toward power supply concerns.
Thank you for your prompt reply. I attempted a 1500 memory clock again, but the problem persists—it occurs even with standard settings and without any undervolt or memory clock boost applied.
Sure, the F4 stable release is available; the F5a is likely still in alpha. Probably best to skip it unless you're sure.
I'll delay testing that BIOS since it's a beta version. You noted in your initial comment that you think the problem might be with the power supply unit, but no specific model was provided. Regarding the RAM, I don't see a listed make or model. Have you tried using just one stick in the A2 socket? The sticks are also in the correct slots—two in A2 and two in B2 (about two slots away from the CPU). Also, everything seems properly seated: RAM, SSD, and graphics card.
ow man I'm sorry, I didn't double-check whether I added the PSU details or not. Here is the link: https://www.coolermaster.com/es-global/p...2-atx-3-0/ The RAM is not the issue. I tested it using MemTest86, as I mentioned before. Yes, both sticks are in slots A2 and B2. I tested my system without the GPU installed, using only the integrated graphics from the CPU, and it didn't crash. However, I'm still not sure it's the GPU. If it happens again when I change the PSU, then sadly it's the GPU, and I don't have another graphics card to test. My two Samsung SSDs seem to be in good health according to S.M.A.R.T. Apologies, I forgot to check whether I had included the PSU details in the post, but here they are: https://www.coolermaster.com/es-global/p...2-atx-3-0/. While testing my hardware one by one, I noticed an extremely loud coil whine coming from the back of my case. I turned off my GPU fans to confirm that the noise was coming from the PSU, and it was.
