For instance, look at fan speeds, temperatures for the CPU, GPU, and Motherboard, voltages, clock speeds or whatever else is listed there. Take screenshots, post them on a site like Imgur, and send those pics here too. These screens will tell us how your laptop is doing during idle times and when it's working hard.
I'm looking at that link on Imgur. My CPU is getting slow even though my heat levels look okay to me. It seems like turning power plans down—specifically hitting a low minimum and capping the max speed around 95%—helps things run smoother, but some stuttering keeps happening anyway. I'll clean out the dust from tomorrow's laptop, but honestly, with these temperatures, it probably won't matter much.
You need to clean out your laptop properly. I will check if I can find someone else here to look into your problem because I have no idea what's wrong with your CPU, which is overheating at 68 degrees when it shouldn't get that hot until it starts slowing down around 95C. Normal cooling usually kicks in at 80C or higher instead of letting the temperature rise much more.
Most video games skip a few frames or drop their frame rate a little bit just because of the game engine. If they are running smoother now, that means they have improved since last time and won't go any faster.
I was checking other games too, like Apex, and usually I run it at 83 fps when the CPU drops down to about 1GHz. That's not normal because I just played it smooth for a few weeks with a stable 165 fps on a laptop that cost $4k back three months ago. Something is clearly wrong here.
I don't know how Ryzen CPUs act like that, but on Intel computers, this is usually called power throttling. It could be a broken sensor (you didn't change anything) or just a bad power brick. I think you should contact the laptop's support team to ask about an exchange first, though.
I was thinking the power brick might be broken because performance got better while using a battery, but now it seems nothing happens even after switching settings. Even changing settings for minimum or maximum processor states didn't fix anything whether plugged in or not. The fan speed doesn't get higher when playing games either, and only goes up when I turn off the game.
