I intend to install an SSD on my computer. Will a current antivirus check both drives? Does the antivirus only scan the drive it’s installed on, or will it automatically scan both? Antivirus: Eset Nod 32 Malware bytes

Malwarebytes offers a dedicated and comprehensive scanning tool. This handles both tasks effectively. (Similar for Windows Defender)

The antivirus should perform a full system scan, but it might also verify settings for accuracy.

Programs generally view SSDs similarly, except for disabling defragmentation.

Files accessed during scanning, irrespective of storage drive, are included in the process. On request scans will function properly when instructed to target a specific location.

It's not really a problem if an anti-virus checks your SSD. Writes do reduce the lifespan of an SSD, but scans usually involve reads which have less impact.
