I had my memory stick fail this morning, so I’m considering a replacement. Right now I own two 2x8GB G.Skill Ripjaws V drives, an Asus Prime X-470 Pro, and a Ryzen 5 2600X. For the new build I’m thinking about going up to 32GB. Since I plan to use my PC beyond just gaming soon, I’m curious if switching to a 32GB configuration would work with my current setup. The memory layout I used previously was F4-3200C14D-32GTZN, but this kit is labeled F4-3200C14D-32GTZN T Z N Trident Neo 2x8GB 16GB. I’m interested in the same model but in a larger size. My main worry is compatibility with my existing hardware. I’m also thinking about upgrading later when the Ryzen 4000 arrives, and I’m not tied to any Corsair products—I’d prefer a 3200 CL14 kit instead.
Your older model likely doesn't include a lifetime guarantee. Typically, most companies will handle returns via RMA quite smoothly.
I’d check what SVM mentioned—they come with solid warranties, so you might want to keep your money safe. If you’re upgrading to the Ryzen 4000 series this year, you’ll likely need a new motherboard (assuming they keep their promises). I doubt your current board can handle 32 gigabytes of RAM, so buying one on Amazon and trying it out for 30 days would be a smart move if it doesn’t work.
Sorry to hear that. You’ve already spent money on a new Ryzen 4000 CPU and motherboard. The seller is asking $510 for the kit, but you’re not getting anything from Amazon unless it’s sold through them. You can find it for $380 if you order directly from Newegg. You’re located in Canada.
