Your computer would shut down unexpectedly when you shook it, and after checking the connections, everything seemed fine. The blue screen with stop code 0xC000021a appeared during startup. While a fresh Windows install is a common solution, I wanted to explore alternative fixes first.

Check this guide: Resolved: Windows Stop Code 0xc000021a Issue (stellarinfo.com). First, start in safe mode as explained. Then try these steps: 5) Execute CHKDSK to fix file system errors, and 1) Use SFC to repair corrupted system files that may appear after a hard shutdown.

Chkdsk will examine the filesystem and attempt to fix damaged file entries. SFC verifies the integrity of the Windows system and replaces any corrupted files. In cases of more severe file system issues, some data may be lost even if repairs are made. However, this outcome is rare. It hasn’t happened to me when I powered down my PC abruptly, though it’s possible.

Sure, I understand losing some files is okay since there’s nothing crucial. Appreciate your support!

When you press F4, it displays several safe boot choices. Which one to select depends on your needs—option 4 offers a safe boot with networking, while options 5 and 6 provide safe boot with additional features. Choose based on what functionality is most important for you.

Number four serves as the standard safe mode, sufficient for the work you intend to perform.

I started in safe mode, yet the blue screen persisted with the identical error code.

Noted the situation described. Microsoft addressed the problem that triggers the 0xc000021a crash on blue screens (bleepingcomputer.com). In the recovery setup, you have access to a command prompt where you can explore the contents of the C: drive. Use commands like "chkdsk /f c:" and "sfc /scannow" there. After that, follow the provided fix link. Replacing files is safe in this context.
