Hey, I'm working on upgrading my brother's PC to Windows 10. It's been stuck on that "Quick check before scheduling" screen for about twenty minutes. His machine is a HP tower with a Core 2 Quad, 6 GB RAM, and a low-end Radeon card, and he's running Windows 7 right now.

Let it rest for 45 minutes. When it hasn’t improved, go to Microsoft and download the file. After opening, select 'upgrade this PC now' and confirm 'keep all my files and apps'.
