I’ve purchased several faulty PC ports only to discover they don’t function correctly. For instance, Bioshock is an excellent game, but the PC Remaster has a major issue with controller input—loading takes longer and eventually causes crashes. I also bought PS4 Borderlands GotY Enhanced, but it fails to save display settings. While some playthroughs are decent, the low frame rate of 40 fps makes it uncomfortable. If you’re considering buying PC ports, be aware there are many with unresolved bugs that could affect your experience.

Many problematic ports were addressed here. The only game-breaking moment I remember is with Greedfall. It offered a solid story and enjoyable mechanics, but had a major bug that disrupted the main plot. Fixing it required waiting a long time for updates, and eventually I stopped playing because resetting to an earlier save was the only solution. It was frustrating, especially after spending 15-20 hours in the game. I wouldn’t recommend buying any more titles from this developer, Spiders.

It really made me think the author hasn't encountered many poor PC ports before.

The initial Splinter Cell titles, along with the original and first sequel, aren't designed for controller use on PC. This presents a significant issue since many players rely on controllers.

We can't compile thousands of titles, so do some research before purchasing. Finding "poor PC ports" usually takes around two minutes. It also varies based on personal preferences about what counts as a bad port. If you don’t need a keyboard or mouse, that’s not an issue for me—I mainly use a gamepad to play games.

The only title that comes to mind with a poor port is EA Sports FIFA. I own the game on my PC since 2018 and there hasn’t been much change. They still face issues like vertical sync problems, loading frames per second dropping to five, and menus responding very slowly.
