I was relaxing during those times when EA was known for server issues on day-one. EA and GameSpy have made progress since then, largely to attract players through Steam. When Steam or Valve encounters problems, EA or Origin tends to step up. I haven’t noticed any issues with Steam during major sales. The only issue I’ve seen is that clicker games freeze when you spam too much. I’m not sure why stressing servers matters for gameplay. They don’t share the same servers for multiplayer and databases. The only difference seems to be active CD key checks at startup. If that’s what you meant, then they probably don’t do anything about it. It should work again on Monday.
